Big Chill refreshes operations with NetSuite OneWorld

Philippine Retail Chain Moves Mission-Critical Business Processes to the Cloud

SAN MATEO, Calif. and MAKATI CITY, Philippines—September 15, 2014—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced that Big Chill Inc., a fast-growing food and beverage retailer with 60 shops in the greater Manila area, has deployed NetSuite OneWorld to support the company's growth and expansion plans. The retail chain is relying on NetSuite OneWorld to better manage its mission-critical business processes, including financials, inventory management, fixed asset management, order management, procure-to-pay and warehousing—all without a huge IT staff and within one unified business management solution. Big Chill expects this modernization effort to give them the business agility, visibility, flexibility and scalability that cannot be found in its previous on-premise system to support its business growth and expansion.

"The retail business is ever-changing and to maintain a competitive edge, we need an efficient, scalable unified system to run our entire operations. NetSuite OneWorld gives us a pathway to take the business to the next level. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet our ambitious strategic objectives for rapid growth," said Rusty Lemon, Chief Operating Consultant at Big Chill. "We feel like we're upgrading from an archaic on-premise solution into a modern, luxury suite with NetSuite. The reporting flexibility and ability to add modules to the product as we expand are tremendous."

Acquired in 2011, Big Chill, together with its parent company AgriNurture, has experienced rapid growth in recent years. With the launch of Fresh Bar, a healthy snack bar, the acquisition of Cheesecake Etc., a major Philippine cake retailer, and a planned expansion program, Big Chill realised that it outgrew its previous system due to its functionality and scalability limitations. After an exhaustive review of a number of on-premise solutions, including Microsoft Dynamics GP and SAP, Big Chill decided to deploy NetSuite OneWorld to future-proof its business with the assistance of IT Group Inc., a NetSuite Solution Provider Partner in the Philippines and Indonesia.

With NetSuite OneWorld, Big Chill has the ability to:

  • Improve procure-to-pay efficiency across 300 suppliers in the first phase of its deployment.
  • Realise cost savings by scaling back the large staff of accounting personnel needed in its legacy environment and reassigning them to other pressing business functions.
  • Better understand and control key business metrics, such as cost of goods sold.
  • Project greater speed and completeness in financial reconciliations and local tax compliance with the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue.
  • Streamline product preparation and packaging at its commissary.
  • Improve payroll efficiency compared to manual processes of the past with NetSuite payroll capabilities.

Big Chill (www.bigchill.com.ph), which is one of the most complex subsidiaries of AgriNurture (ANI: Philippines), a diversified and publicly traded Philippine grower and exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables, and processed agricultural food products, was selected for the initial NetSuite deployment at AgriNurture. AgriNurture's family of brands across the Philippines includes FCA (Fresh Choice Always) for fresh and processed wellness food products; La Natural for coconut juice and Nikka for mango nectar and tamarind juices; Superfresh and Big Chill for fresh fruit beverages and the Cafeteria Verde healthy fast-food chain.

Today, more than 20,000 companies and subsidiaries depend on NetSuite to run complex, mission-critical business processes globally in the cloud. Since its inception in 1998, NetSuite has established itself as the leading provider of enterprise-class cloud financials/ERP suites for divisions of large enterprises and mid-sized organisations seeking to upgrade their antiquated client/server ERP systems. NetSuite excels at streamlining business operations as demonstrated in a recent Gartner study naming NetSuite as the fastest growing financial management software vendor on a global basis. NetSuite continues its success in delivering the best cloud ERP/financials suites to businesses around the world, enabling them to lower IT costs significantly while increasing productivity, as the global adoption of the cloud is accelerating.
