It is true what they say that big things come from small beginnings. Regardless of how big or small the contribution is, what matters at the end of the day is its impact to the community.
NetSuite.org has continuously beeninvolved in extending assistance to communities in need in countries all over the world. Through its partnership with various organisations, it is able to touch the lives of people in need in the fastest yet meaningful way possible. For example, the NetSuite.org Manila SuiteImpact Team has always been active in participating in initiatives dedicated to empowering individuals and communities in the Philippines. Instilling the value of volunteerism among its employees has always been a priority to ensure work and life balance in the company.
Just recently, the team partnered up with Hands-On Manila (HOM), an organisation committed to empowering individuals to act as citizens and realise their ability to contribute to the community in meaningful ways. This time, the team spent a half-day of service with HOM, repainting classrooms at F. Ma. Guerrero Elementary School.
Twenty-seven members of the SuiteImpact Team Manila stepped out of the office and helped renovate the school’s classrooms. The team was divided into groups and assigned to clean and repaint walls, grills, and windows, working together with parents of the children that attend the school. Leading the team were SuiteImpact Ambassadors Ishmael Vargas, and Louie Baltazar, and NetSuite.org’s Rhoda Navarro. They were joined by HOM Board Member Lizette Cojuangco and HOM Sherpa Chito dela Vega.
The partnership with Hands-On Manila serves as a good starting point to the many things that we hope to deliver in the coming year for the communities who need our help. The work completed by our volunteers, will hopefully make a big difference in the lives of the pupils in the school.
