(NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced NetSuite for Android, the world’s first end-to-end cloud business management mobile app for smartphones running the world’s most popular mobile operating system, Android. Companies and their staff using NetSuite for Android can realise dramatic time savings and productivity improvements by having access to NetSuite, the cloud suite on which they run their business anytime, anywhere.

According to research firm International Data Corp. (IDC), Android was the dominant smartphone OS in 2014, commanding 81.5 percent market share on a global basis as compared with Apple’s iOS in second place with 14.8 percent market share.1

“NetSuite for Android is unique. Designed mobile-first, it’s the world’s only end-to-end cloud business management mobile app which brings full mobile and unified ERP, CRM and ecommerce functionality to Android smartphone users,” said Evan Goldberg, NetSuite Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “We believe in empowering companies and their employees so they can fully participate in the mobile revolution. NetSuite for Android Empowers Global Users, All Business Roles
NetSuite OneWorld, with its support for 190 currencies, 19 languages and automated tax compliance in over 50 countries, enables NetSuite for Android to address the rising demand from global companies for mobile access to real-time business information across a broad range of industries and business functions, notably finance, sales and services personnel as well as executives and managers. NetSuite for Android can enable global business anytime, anywhere in multiple scenarios for multiple roles including the following:

  • A sales or services rep starts his or her working day by accessing their NetSuite calendar from their Android device to get ready for customer calls and on-site visits. The rep can then quickly pull up the complete customer history held in NetSuite from his or her smartphone and be fully prepared for all customer engagements. While with a customer, sales reps can access inventory data and place sales orders directly from their Android devices. Support reps working on customers’ issues can speed up troubleshooting and problem resolution by direct access to product information held in NetSuite and can order any replacement parts, all from their smartphones. At any point in the day, sales and support reps can capture expenses at point of purchase and submit expense reports for approval via their Android devices, attaching images of receipts taken by the camera in their smartphones. They can also track the time they spend on particular projects and submit timesheets to their managers for their sign-off.
  • Managers start their working day in the same way as their staff by gaining full access to their NetSuite calendar from their Android device for complete information about the day ahead. Managers can quickly respond to all requests from their staff from their smartphones. They can authorize expenses, sign off on timesheets and approve purchases. They can also help resolve escalated support cases and access all information about a specific customer directly from NetSuite. In all cases, a manager’s approval can be set to trigger other business actions so, for instance, an approved expense report via Android is then sent immediately to accounting. Using NetSuite for Android, managers can capture expenses at the point of purchase and submit expense reports via their Android devices, attaching images of receipts taken by the camera in their smartphones.
