SAN MATEO, Calif. and SYDNEY, Australia — November 12, 2007 — Online One, a leading independent NetSuite consulting company based in Australia serving local, Asia and international markets, today announced that it has become a member of NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program. Online One has extended NetSuite's One System Architecture with new capabilities to meet the needs of businesses requiring a Fixed Asset Management component within NetSuite. The NetSuite SuiteFlex Development platform goes beyond other on-demand development environments, allowing third-party applications to integrate transaction data — orders, inventory, invoices and shipments — with their applications. This enables customers and third-party developers to build new workflows and applications that look and operate as if NetSuite's own developers wrote them.
Because NetSuite holds critical business data of a company — orders, invoices, Web site transactions, shipping records, time tracking and payroll data — the applications that are built on it using SuiteFlex provide key tools for managing the company's business. For example, with Online One's Fixed Asset Management solution, NetSuite's accounting functionality is extended to include all the features required to depreciate and track assets. Assets can be depreciated using standard methods such as straight line or diminishing value with the ability to tailor to any other methods required.
At period end, general ledger journal entries are readily created from depreciation schedules held within the Fixed Asset Management module. Maintaining and tracking assets used by individuals such as laptops, mobile phones, and other company resources, helps to ensure that all important assets are accounted for within the asset inventory.
"The SuiteFlex development program allows partners like Online One to build value for customers over and above the NetSuite platform," said Don McLean, Director of Online One. "It allows us to develop applications which are appropriate for local markets in Asia as well as the global marketplace, as is the case with our Fixed Asset Management module. For our customers it means solving more business problems using NetSuite in the same user environment. And that adds up to a better, more efficient business for them."
About SuiteFlex and NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program
SuiteFlex is an application development platform that enables the creation of third-party vertical applications within NetSuite, as well as business process customisation for any end-user company. SuiteFlex includes several industry technology advances and innovations including additions to SuiteScript — which allows for on-demand programming using only a web browser on a device with Internet access. As a part of SuiteScript, NetSuite introduced Suitelets and SuiteScript UI Objects, allowing customers and third-party developers to build new workflows and applications that can look and operate as if NetSuite's own developers wrote them. In addition, SuiteFlex introduces a new concept for the Software as a Service market — "Service as Software," SuiteBundler — to deliver new integrated vertical solutions by packaging their Suitelets and other extensions with NetSuite's core ERP/CRM/Ecommerce application. SuiteBundler enables solution providers to embed their industry-best practices, knowledge and applications — traditionally delivered as one-off services — into the actual NetSuite application for verticals in a repeatable fashion.
NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program was established to help solution providers achieve success in vertical markets by bringing them the following:
