Oracle Small Business Suite introduces feature-packed release

Continued improvements make suite most flexible and easiest way to run a growing business

Redwood Shores, CA—March 11, 2002—Oracle Corp., the largest provider of software for e-business, today announced the launch of Oracle® Small Business Suite version 7.6, powered by NetLedger, which further enhances the ease-of-use and advanced feature set of the award-winning Oracle Small Business Suite. The Oracle Small Business Suite helps companies manage key business functions online in a single, integrated system, without the hassle and expense of maintaining their own IT systems.

New features and enhancements have been made in all components of the Oracle Small Business Suite, including Sales Force Automation, Customer Support Management, Web Store and Order Management, and Accounting and Payroll. These latest new features and enhancements are based on extensive user surveys, and focus on adding industry-leading functionality and making the Suite easier to use.

Key to this new release is the addition of Custom Records, which will allow a business to utilise the Suite to maintain a database of information unique to their operation. For example, a property management company could create a database of all of their properties with fields representing all of the information it needs to maintain about the property such as number of units, size of the units, maintenance schedule, etc. The Custom Records feature is integrated with the core business information in a company such as its customer and product lists.

To help businesses that market and sell through partners, a new partner centre has been added to the existing customer and vendor centres. Businesses can now provide secure online access to their partners to log in and make changes to their profile, create additional codes to track promotions, and retrieve information about the partnership activity including up-to-the minute information on sales.

Additionally, Many usability features have been added based on extensive user feedback. The Oracle Small Business Suite has a newly designed Home page that offers enhanced Customisation capabilities and a new search capability to help companies find records quickly. Another ease-of-use feature is the new mass update capability, which allows users to change multiple records all at once based on the results of a search, simplifying many common business processes, such as reassigning leads or changing lead status from active to inactive.

"Our product team continues to innovate at a breathtaking pace," said Evan Goldberg, CEO of NetLedger. "Our growing set of loyal customers provides terrific feedback to help us move the Oracle Small Business Suite forward, and the fact that we are using the Suite in-house to manage our own growth gives us a unique perspective on our users' needs."

The Oracle Small Business Suite is one completely integrated application to help small businesses manage all of their business processes more efficiently and effectively, including accounting and finance, sales and service, Web presence, and employee management. Companies can save time and money and get unprecedented visibility into their operations by utilising one centralised and up-to-date database, ending the headache of using multiple incompatible applications. With anytime, anywhere Web access, the award-winning solution is the first and only multi-user, multi-location complete small business management solution.
