From San Jose to Morocco and back again: NetSuite SuiteWorld 2015 attendees walk more than 16,000 miles in three-day charity challenge

NetSuite's SuiteFit 4Good Challenge Benefits Two Nonprofit Partners: Water For People and MANA Nutrition

SAN MATEO, Calif.—June 9, 2015—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced the results of SuiteFit 4Good, a charity challenge benefitting two nonprofits that took place during its recent SuiteWorld 2015 conference in San Jose, Calif. For the challenge, attendees at NetSuite's SuiteWorld 2015 received a wearable activity tracking device and had the option of being assigned to one of two charity teams—Water For People or MANA Nutrition—with the charity that collected the most steps winning a cash donation. The SuiteFit 4Good challenge helped bring together the thousands of SuiteWorld attendees for a good cause, while also providing a friendly competition at NetSuite's annual conference for NetSuite solution providers, ISV partners, industry thought leaders and representatives of the approximately 24,000 companies and subsidiaries from across the globe using the NetSuite cloud-based business management suite.

Altogether, SuiteWorld attendees participating in the SuiteFit 4Good challenge walked more than 16,000 miles—the equivalent of a roundtrip 'walk' between San Jose, Calif. and Morocco. Team Water For People amassed the most steps and the charity received a $30,000 donation that will enable the nonprofit to provide the communities it serves with over 300,000 liters of safe water. MANA Nutrition received a $15,000 donation, the equivalent of 50,000 MANA meals which will help to reverse the effects of severe acute malnutrition in 315 children.

The two organisations represent two vital ingredients for life—water and food—and both nonprofits are recipients of grants awarded by the NetSuite.org corporate citizenship program:

  • Water For People (www.waterforpeople.org), based in Denver, Colo., works together with local communities and governments to ensure access to safe water and sanitation for all families, schools and clinics in the nine countries in which it currently operates. At present, 3,000 to 5,000 children around the world die every day from water-related diseases. The nonprofit's core mission is to help put an end to global water poverty.
  • MANA Nutrition (www.mananutrition.org), based in Charlotte, N.C., manufactures nutrient-rich packets of fortified milk suspended in peanut butter, which have helped, by its own estimates, to save the lives of more than one million children suffering from severe acute malnutrition. Currently, one child dies every 10 seconds somewhere in the world from malnutrition. The nonprofit's core goal is to help eradicate severe acute malnutrition.

"In our SuiteFit 4Good challenge, every attendee and every step made a difference," said NetSuite CMO Fred Studer. "As part of reinventing engagement at SuiteWorld, we were eager to literally mobilise the entire NetSuite community and get everyone on their feet walking as much as possible to benefit these two amazing nonprofits—Water For People and MANA Nutrition. The challenge was a huge success and everyone really stepped up!"
