Cloud Solution Delivers Efficiency and Cost Savings for Hundreds of Retail Customers
SPS OMNICHANNEL 2014, MINNEAPOLIS, MN. and SAN MATEO, CA.—May 5, 2014—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, and SPS Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSC), a leader in retail cloud supply chain services, today announced that both companies are transforming the retail ecosystem to keep pace with the needs of the omnichannel consumer with a consistent experience across any touchpoint, any channel, anytime, anywhere. Today hundreds of retailers and suppliers rely on the joint SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution to enhance collaboration, efficiency and data accuracy for more intelligent commerce. Fast-growing companies such as Beyond the Rack, Honey Stinger and Zumba Fitness, leverage SPS Commerce's Retail Business Network with a pre-built integration to NetSuite to enable collaborative commerce with trading partners around the globe, without manual intervention.
Created in 2007, the technology and strategic partnership between SPS Commerce and NetSuite has experienced rapid growth as automated B2B integration increasingly becomes a requirement for doing business in the global retail ecosystem. NetSuite's heightened focus on the retail industry and strong customer adoption of NetSuite SuiteCommerce, its integrated commerce solution, seamlessly connecting every step of the business—ecommerce, point-of-sale, order management, merchandising, marketing, inventory, financials and customer service—has also driven the partnership's success. With NetSuite's end-to-end commerce solution, retailers are delivering more personalised experiences, increasing sales and driving customer satisfaction at every interaction. At the same time, they're streamlining operations, reducing cost and complexity and fueling business growth. To learn more, please visit www.netsuite.com.au/retail.
"Closely integrating the SPS Commerce and NetSuite systems provides full visibility and automation across the supply chain to deliver on the promise of omnichannel retail," said Archie Black, president and CEO of SPS Commerce. "As the retail industry increasingly adopts a cloud strategy to deliver the more nimble capabilities today's consumer demands, the flexibility and power of combining the SPS Commerce retail business network to NetSuite's omnichannel commerce solution and back-office ERP delivers the critical capabilities for success."
Named the NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer Network (SDN) Partner of the Year in 2012, SPS Commerce delivers retail services that represent a next-generation of supply chain solutions that are 'Built for NetSuite' verified, meeting the NetSuite SuiteCloud Platform's development standards and documented best practices. NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson will deliver a keynote, "Retail Is Dead, Long Live Retail!" at the SPS Omnichannel 2014 conference today, May 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. CDT, at the Marriott City Centre in Minneapolis, MN. "Automated supply chains and analytics are the foundation of retail excellence, as companies without automation find themselves limited in growth potential while suffering high costs and delays with manual processing," Mr. Nelson said. "Our partnership with SPS Commerce is delivering proven solutions that are a prerequisite to compete in omnichannel retail and ultimately better serve the consumer—wherever and whenever they shop."
Beyond the Rack, Honey Stinger and Zumba Fitness are among the fast-growing retailers to capitalise on the benefits of the joint SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution.
Beyond the Rack (www.beyondtherack.com), an online shopping club offering 10 million members flash sales of designer apparel, accessories, beauty and home décor products at up to 80 percent off, expects to eliminate hundreds of hours a week in manual labour as it expands use of the joint SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution. SPS has given the Montreal-based Beyond the Rack a standardised environment to collaborate with fashion designers by easily sharing trading information including vendor UPC code data, rather than using Excel to translate UPC data, internal Beyond the Rack bar codes, and SKU numbers. The SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution is being rolled out among 200 top vendors with more to follow. It alleviates manual work for both Beyond the Rack and vendors, and improves data accuracy fueling its ecommerce initiatives. The solution also automates the workflow of posting product information to the company ecommerce site, utilizing NetSuite inventory records. With SPS Commerce, Beyond the Rack is building on the success it has realised since going live on NetSuite, including double-digit annual revenue growth and scalability to accommodate huge order spikes. "You're talking about hundreds of hours a week we won't have to invest—we'll be able to pick, pack and ship much faster, and merchandise can come in and go out the same day," said Jim Weinberg, president and chief merchandising officer. "We went with SPS Commerce because they offer a large retail network and could buckle their solution onto NetSuite, and that made a lot of sense to us."
Honey Stinger (www.honeystinger.com), a maker of all-natural energy and protein bars based in Steamboat Springs, Colo., is saving nearly 1,500 hours a year in order entry and transaction processing with the joint NetSuite/SPS Commerce system, augmented by an OzLINK shipping solution. In Q1 2014, Honey Stinger estimated a savings of 300 hours in order entry time with automation across 10,000 orders, freeing sales reps to focus on service and revenue generation across its growing number of ecommerce and retail outlets. The company also saved 60 hours in Q1 while achieving a high degree of accuracy, helping it to avoid costly chargebacks from retail partners because of errant information. Now covering nearly 1,000 locations and about 25 trading partners, including Dick's Sporting Goods, Whole Foods and Sports Authority, the SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution gives Honey Stinger the flexibility to rapidly onboard new trading partners and address unique complexities in partner requirements. An SPS Commerce customer since 2007, Honey Stinger gained new efficiencies when it replaced QuickBooks with NetSuite in 2012, helping drive double-digit revenue growth, doubling overall productivity and avoiding the cost and complexity of on-premise systems. "With SPS Commerce and NetSuite, we can handle growing transaction volumes and greater complexity as our omnichannel retail customers add SKUs," said Chris Tamucci, Honey Stinger director of operations. "Efficiency is a big part of it for us, as well as ensuring accuracy of ASNs."
Zumba Fitness (www.zumba.com), the global lifestyle fitness brand with more than 14 million participants in 180 countries, is avoiding about four full-time personnel otherwise required by using the SPS Commerce/NetSuite solution to automate between 500 to 800 daily transactions from their large retail partners, Costco and Bed Bath & Beyond's, U.S. network of stores offering Zumba DVDs and exercise equipment. Based in Hallandale, Fla., Zumba is about to bring on an additional retail partner, and expects to expand its SPS Commerce usage to handle its growing active apparel line with key retailers. With transaction automation, Zumba has accelerated order processing across its multiple sales channels, which previously took about 15 minutes of manual work per order, and increased accuracy by eliminating the risk of human error in order processing. Zumba implemented SPS Commerce in 2012 to exchange purchase orders, invoices, purchase order acknowledgements and more. It complements a NetSuite OneWorld solution that manages global financial consolidation, CRM, inventory and order management, and more for the fast-growing company. "SPS Commerce and NetSuite have really provided us with the capabilities to take on strategic opportunities in the wholesale market that are important to our brand and growing the business," said Jonathan Gobeli, director of supply chain at Zumba.
