NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N) is a public software company. The company was founded in October 1998 by Evan Goldberg and Larry Ellison — and was initially known as NetLedger, Inc.
Evan Goldberg, Founder,
Chief Technology Officer and Chairman of the Board
Evan Goldberg spent eight years at Oracle Corporation,
where he served as a vice president. He was involved
in a variety of projects, all focused on making powerful
database technology more accessible to users. When he
left Oracle, he started mBED Software and built groundbreaking
Web site technology. He founded NetSuite in 1998.
Goldberg holds a B.A. Summa Cum Laude in Applied Mathematics
from Harvard University.
Zach Nelson, President and Chief Executive Officer
Zach Nelson has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the high-tech industry, where he has held a variety of executive positions spanning marketing, sales, product development and business strategy with leading companies such as Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and McAfee/Network Associates. Nelson has been CEO of NetSuite since 2002. One of top 10 visionary CEOs in the Silicon Valley, Nelson led NetSuite's successful IPO in 2007. Under his leadership, NetSuite has become the leading provider of cloud computing business management software suites in the world. Nelson holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from Stanford University.
Jim McGeever, Chief Operating Officer
Jim McGeever is responsible for many of NetSuite's internal operations including sales, services, support and administration. He also spearheads NetSuite's industry vertical and customer satisfaction programs, which continue to help drive the company's success.
Previously, McGeever served as chief financial officer. An early employee of the company, he joined NetSuite in early 2000 and rapidly built a global financial organization with employees in seven countries. He combined the traditional roles of CFO with full responsibility for G&A functions. He was one of the key driving forces behind NetSuite's successful IPO in 2007. An industry leader, he has defined and popularized several finance best practices for the cloud computing industry.
Before joining NetSuite, McGeever was director of finance for Clontech Laboratories, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company acquired by Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX). Earlier, he was the corporate controller at Photon Dynamics, Inc., a capital equipment maker. McGeever started his career at Ernst & Young where he qualified as a chartered accountant. He holds a B.Sc. from the London School of Economics. He is a frequent speaker at industry and financial conferences. In 2007 he was named the CFO of the Year for the Bay Area.
Ron Gill, Chief Financial Officer
Ron Gill is responsible for overseeing the company's global financial strategy and operations. Since joining NetSuite in 2007, he has been responsible for NetSuite's accounting and finance functions, serving as vice president of finance, then as senior vice president of finance.
Prior to joining NetSuite, Gill was vice president, finance, at Hyperion Solutions. Previously, he held a variety of financial positions with several of the world's largest technology companies, including SAP, Dell and Sony. Gill holds a Master of International Business Studies degree from the University of South Carolina and a B.A. from Baylor University.
James Ramsey, SVP of Worldwide Sales and Distribution
James Ramsey brings more than 15 years of experience in high-tech sales and sales management to his role in leading NetSuite's worldwide sales and distribution operations. Since joining NetSuite in 2004, Ramsey has built a world-class global sales organization and established best practices that have led to strong, consistent revenue growth across all sales channels.
Prior to NetSuite, Ramsey was with Oracle Corp. During his tenure at Oracle, he won most of the company's top sales awards, including MVP of North America and Top Sales Manager. He was a Club Excellence Achiever for seven consecutive years. He also created and directed many sales organizations within Oracle, including the sales organization which managed all mid-market sales to the Central US and Canada. Under his leadership this organization grew from 25 to 200 employees and became one of the top producing offices for SMB sales.
Ramsey holds a B.A degree in Psychology from the University of Denver, in Denver, Colorado.
Tim Dilley, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Services and Chief Customer Officer
Tim Dilley has over 25 years experience providing service to technology customers and has held executive management positions in professional services and customer support. At NetSuite, he is responsible for driving customer success in the use and adoption of the NetSuite application. In his role, Dilley manages the global teams in consulting, training, customer support, and client management.
Prior to NetSuite, Dilley served as senior vice president of Global Customer Services at Informatica Corporation, responsible for the global practices of Professional Services, Education Services, Customer Support and Maintenance Renewal Sales. Previously, he was an associate partner for Worldwide Utilities at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and a co-founder of Axiom Management Consulting, a management and information technology consulting firm. Dilley began his career as a consultant at Price Waterhouse. Dilley holds a B.S. in business administration from California State University at Fresno.
David Downing, Chief Marketing Officer
David Downing has more than 25 years experience in technology
marketing, specializing in brand building, sales force readiness
and market development for enterprise software companies. Downing's
leadership skills and innovative marketing strategies have been
employed at some of the technology industry's leading
organizations, including Adobe, Oracle, Informatica and SAP.
Before joining NetSuite, Downing was the vice president of marketing
at venture-backed MetaLINCS, a leading provider of electronic
discovery software to Fortune 500 corporations, which was acquired
by Seagate Technology, in December 2007. Previously, Downing
worked at SAP where he was an integral part of the team building
support for SAP NetWeaver among independent software vendors
(ISVs) and the venture capital community. As the vice president
of marketing at Informatica, Downing was a key member of the
management team that built the company into a worldwide leader
in data integration and business intelligence, which included
a highly successful IPO in 1999. Downing holds a BS degree from
Boston University.
