Founded in 1979 as a leadership training firm, The Ken Blanchard Companies took off after The One Minute Manager, authored by Blanchard and Spencer Johnson, sold 100,000 copies in the first year it was published. Ensuring Great Managers are Trained, Not Born

Expanding beyond basic training
Blanchard’s core offering of nine courses around situational leadership has fueled its growth, but the company offers much more beyond courses, including training materials, services with direct onsite training and “train the trainer” sessions. It has expanded into Canada, the UK and Asia, working with companies like GE, Pfizer, Caterpillar and Nissan.
Process refinement includes system overhaul
Nearing its 40th year in business, Blanchard undertook an initiative to streamline its internal processes and procedures. As part of that initiative, management realized that it needed to implement an ERP system to replace disparate Navision financials, Salesforce for CRM and marketing, and a homegrown tool for project management.
NetSuite wins over SAP, FinancialForce
After evaluating SAP and FinancialForce, Blanchard selected NetSuite, in part because the SuiteSuccess methodology and implementation by NetSuite Professional Services could help establish leading practices. With it, financial close is faster, reporting is easier and more complete, and Blanchard has a single version of financials, customers and services.
Improving communications with network partners
With NetSuite implemented and the operational excellence programme ongoing, Blanchard is now evaluating creating new customer portals for long-term client engagements for its network partners around the world that integrates directly with NetSuite easing management and creating greater insights.
